EVAN offers a range of prevention and education services. We understand that the best tool in the prevention of HIV are people who make well-informed, health conscious decisions. Our prevention specialists are certified HIV testers, trained in the science and prevention of HIV, and have a deep and long-standing commitment to public health.
EVAN Offers:
Free, Confidential HIV Testing. A test can be administered at our office or at one of our community testing days and locations. Testing is available Mon – Thurs from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM every week. Please see the “Schedule a HIV Test” tab for more information.
Spanish Interpretation is available upon request.
Community Events and Testing. EVAN is willing to come to your campus, church, clinic or business and offer a free testing day at no charge to you. Please contact Donna at 757-583-1317 or email her at DonnaPowell@evanva.org for more details.
HIV and Prevention Education. EVAN would love to send a speaker to a HIV/AIDS awareness event, public health forum or classroom to discuss HIV and how it can be prevented.
Safer Sex kits and Needle Bleaching kits. EVAN offers condom education, and advice on developing condom negotiation skills as well as safer sex kits for those who do not otherwise can access to condoms. We also offer needle bleaching kits and education about the risks of injection drug use. EVAN also wants to be very clear that a bleached needle does not prevent the transmission of Hepatitis C.
